- Request for proposals are invited for Procurement of Female Pigs for Plan-s Community Volunteers Projects in Nyaruguru. Local breed and a minimum 4 months of age with a good growth of at least 40 kgs.. Technical specifications of the piglets to be bought Local breed and a minimum 4 months of age with a good growth of at least 40 kgs for a female. Health Requirements All pigs will be supplied by taking into consideration the following points: Pigs originate from areas which are officially free from African swine fever, Rouget and FMD Pigs originate from a farm and an area where no Veterinary restrictions applicable to the species are enforced Pigs have been in quarantine/isolation before their delivery; Pigs were examined during quarantine and on the day of departure and do not show any sign of infectious or contagious diseases and are visibly free from external parasites; Pigs do not show any genetic or other anatomical defects. Pigs were treated with acaricides for external parasites, anti-stress and a broad spectrum anthelminthic against internal parasites prior to the delivery; Each animal will be identified by a clearly visible ear-tag accompanied by a Veterinary Health Certificate issued by RAB; they will be selected by a team composed of the District/Sector Veterinary Doctor and a committee of 4 people from the beneficiaries; a report will be produced after selection of the pigs NB: A note of good receipt will be signed by RAB and District/Sector Veterinary staff after across checking all the mentioned specifications (both Technical and health) during the delivery of the female pigs at the site. If any pig shows any signs of heat, they will be replaced by the supplier within 14 days after supplying. Additional requirements Provision of RDB & VAT certificates Provide at least two (2) completion certificates of similar supply Provide delivery schedule not later than one month after signing the contract
