  • Expression of Interest are invited for Development of Video Series to Support Teaching of Foundational Learning in Rwanda. Issue Date and Time: Oct 09,2023 05:38 Closing Date and Time: Oct 23,2023 23:59 The World Bank; In Close Collaboration with Rwanda Basic Education Board (Reb)-Teacher Development and Management (Tdm) Department; Seeks a Firm to Design; Develop; Disseminate; And Evaluate a Series of Short Videos (1-3 Minutes) Modeling Evidence-Backed; Classroom-Based Teaching Strategies for Foundational Subjects (i.e.; Kinyarwanda; English; And Mathematics) in Grades 1; 2; And 3. These Videos will Serve as an Important Resource and Input for Teacher Training and Continuous Professional Development Programs for Pre-Primary and Primary School Teachers; Responsible for Teaching Foundational Skills in Kinyarwanda; English; And Mathematics. Scope of Work Four Phases of Activities are Envisioned in this Consultancy; With Capacity Building of the Reb Teams as a Core Component across each Activity: Phase 1: Design a Package of Short Videos (1-3 Minutes) Modeling Effective Teaching Strategies for Kinyarwanda; English; And Mathematics (Grades 1-3) along with a Dissemination Plan. Each Video should be Clearly Linked to an Existing Training Module and Developed in Consultation with the Tdm and Curriculum; Teaching; And Learning Resources (Ctlr) Departments at Reb to Ensure Close Alignment with Existing Teacher Training and Capacity Development Modules and Programs and the Teaching Guides for Grades 1-3 for Kinyarwanda; English; And Mathematics. Phase 2: Create Videos following Piloting with Teachers to Elicit Feedback on and Optimize Content and Delivery Format. These Videos should be of a Size and Format to Allow Easy and Regular Dissemination to Head Teachers and Teachers across Various Platforms (Such as Whatsapp); Including to Facilitate Utilization as Part of Training and Continuous Professional Development Sessions within the School and out-Side the School Setting. Phase 3: Follow a Dissemination Plan that Includes Incorporating the Videos into the Relevant Training and Professional Development Modules as Well as Sharing the Videos with Teachers across the Country at Regular Intervals to Support Strong Teaching Practices in the Classroom. Phase 4: Evaluate Utilization and Impact of Videos on Teacher Knowledge; Attitudes; And Practices in the Classroom. The Firm will Conduct an Evaluation of the Videos to Explore the Extent of Utilization by Teachers; And Any Impact that Watching Videos may have had on the Teaching of Foundational Skills in the Country. The Wbg Reserves the Right to Publicly Disclose Contract Award Information, including but not Limited to, Name of Company Receiving the Award, Brief Description of Services, and Contract Award Amount, for Any Contract Award Valued over Us$250,000.
