  • Expression of Interest are invited for Consultancy Services for Designing, Implementing and Facilitating of Circularity Accelerator Program and Events. 1. Tasks to be performed by the contractor The contractor will develop, oversee and coordinate a circularity accelerator program, in close coordination with DSSD. The contractor will also oversee the design and integration of sustainability/circularity principles and methodologies into the program, as well as engage relevant stakeholders/partners leading up to a demo day where the start-ups will present their circularity-based solutions. Work package 1: Call for applications/Selection of start-ups The contractor will design a call for applications and an elaborate criterion of selection of these start-ups to be reviewed by DSSD Together with two (2) DSSD representatives, the contractor will prepare and launch a call for applications, review the applications, and select six (6) start-ups, out of which three (3) are tech start-ups, based on defined criteria. Work package 2: Program Facilitation The contractor will conduct a business diagnostics and circularity check for six start-ups in total The contractor will design and deliver a session on understanding Circular Economy principles The contractor will design and deliver a session for start-ups to map out their materials or product journeys. The contractor will design and deliver a session aimed to help participants take an everyday product and redesign it through a circular economy lens The contractor will design and deliver a session aimed at activating the cohort-s circular journey The contractor will design and deliver a session on supporting the start-ups to identify circular innovations in their product/material lifecycle The contractor will design and deliver sessions focused on tech and the circular economy The contractor will design and deliver a session aimed to develop or redesign the business models of the start-ups from a circular economy perspective The contractor will design and deliver a session on Circular Economy Impact measurement. The contractor will design and deliver a session on circular collaboration aimed at bringing together actors in the start-ups- value chains to leverage each other-s strengths to implement circular solutions. The contractor will design and deliver pitching sessions to support start-ups to be ready to pitch their circular solutions. The contractor will deliver individualised coaching to the selected start-ups on materials, journey mapping, circular opportunity identification, market assessment, testing and prototyping of identified opportunities, and circular business modelling. Work package 3: Events and peer sessions facilitation The contractor will provide the following services under this work package: Design and deliver six (6) themed circularity events during the program Support in creating and sharing the start-ups- circular journeys throughout the duration of the program Organize a peer session for the teams in the program to exchange and share their learnings Design and disseminate all communication materials for the program Prepare and implement / facilitate the first two (2) circularity Community of Practice events. The DigiCenter runs Communities of Practice that entail bringing players within a specific sector together to discuss, learn and innovate together. The circularity Community of Practice, therefore, would be a platform for anyone interested in solutions for a circular economy. Work package 4: Circular economy demo day The contractor will engage investors and partners for the circular demo day The contractor will go through any preparation steps with the start-ups ahead of the demo day With the support of DSSD, the contractor will oversee and coordinate all logistics for the circular demo day Work package 5: Reporting The following reports will be submitted by the contractor: Inception Report: This report shall be given two (2) weeks after the commencement of the assignment detailing but not limited to the approach and methodology, proposed work plan for undertaking the assignment, and implementation timeline scheduling of the assignment. Implementation Plan: These reports will elaborate all activities undertaken during assignment execution including all project documentations. This will include the work plan, resources and budget, stakeholders, and quality control (M&E) for each start-up to be supported, with feedback from GIZ and its partners incorporated. The report should also clearly report if the intervention logic is valid and propose any relevant modifications going forward. Monitoring & Evaluation reports: This report shall constitute a summary of the accomplished work and shall reveal in detail achieved milestone with their impact and outcomes. Final Reports: This report will elaborate all activities undertaken during the assignment execution including all start-ups supported. These reports shall: Cover the entire process as a whole; Provide a full account of all aspects of the Services- implementation for the period covered, Include the results achieved, and include any relevant best practices and lessons learned from the program For the Financial Proposal: The Financial Proposal indicates the all-inclusive total contract price, supported by a breakdown of all costs. The cost must be in RWF and VAT excluded.
