Description:
The Republic of Rwanda, represented by the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning has received financing grants from KfW and EU towards part of the costs of the Project. The National Project Executing Agency is the Water and Sanitation Corporation (WASAC) .WASAC (the “Employer”) invites Contractors or Joint Ventures to submit a prequalification document for procurement of works for the construction of a Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant with a capacity of 500 m3/d. The treatment process chain mainly consists of nature-based treatment steps with low energy demand (Imhoff tanks, sludge drying beds, extended sludge storage, co-composting, two-stage constructed wetland). Additional works envisage almost complete self-sufficiency of the plant (solar panels, distribution network for process water from treated effluent and harvested rainwater). The scope of works furthermore involves 1 year of operation & training of the Employer-s staff. This procurement application is for one works contract. The duration of the Works is anticipated to be 2 years (in addition 1 year operation & training + 1 year DNP). The Works are anticipated to commence in the fourth quarter of 2023. It is expected that the Invitation for Bids will be made in July, 2023.
